PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gianni Castellana (ranked 3724 p4p, 379 weight class) and Gino Trecozze (ranked 3288 p4p, 351 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Castellana might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Here Comes the Boom. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gino Trecozze!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castellana displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Trecozze.
Castellana misses with a low kick.
Castellana throws a low kick, looking for Trecozze's leg but Trecozze calmly moves out of range.
Trecozze changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Castellana moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Trecozze shoots in looking for a takedown but Castellana manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trecozze's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Castellana counters with a nice right hand that sends Trecozze toppling to the canvas! Trecozze scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Castellana finish him?!

Trecozze has Castellana pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Trecozze pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Castellana tumbling to the mat - Trecozze dives into Castellana's guard.

Trecozze has gone for a leg lock! Castellana slips out almost immediately though and dives into Trecozze's guard.

Castellana wants to get up but he can't break Trecozze's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Castellana is trying to maintain a safe position but Trecozze gets an underhook and turns Castellana into the ropes.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Castellana creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trecozze has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Castellana after a bit of a struggle.

Castellana feints and then cracks Trecozze's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Trecozze down.

Castellana drops Trecozze onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Trecozze is propped up by the ropes and works his way back to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Castellana creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Trecozze with a big uppercut! Trecozze tries to clinch up but Castellana pushes him back against the ropes and lands another monster strike that crumples Trecozze to the mat! Trecozze covers up and Castellana unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
