Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Norman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barry Cubbedge !
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cubbedge misses the shot to the body.
Norman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Cubbedge throws a body punch but Norman moves out of range.
Cubbedge just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromNorman.
Norman slips a straight right by Cubbedge .
Cubbedge swings for the body but Norman moves out of range.
Cubbedge misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Norman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Cubbedge scores with a jab to the head.
Norman moves away from the strike by Cubbedge .
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cubbedge misses with a few strikes there.
Norman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cubbedge sprawls and moves away.
Norman dives in for a single leg takedown but Cubbedge sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Cubbedge keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

It looked like Norman wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Nice sprawl there from Cubbedge as Norman shoots in.
Norman lands a nice hook to Cubbedge 's body. Cubbedge takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Norman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cubbedge sprawls and moves away.

Norman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Norman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cubbedge felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Norman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cubbedge trying to hold on to Norman's head to control him but Norman postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cubbedge is not content to let Norman control the position.
Cubbedge tries to roll over but Norman keeps him under control.
Norman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Norman is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Cubbedge still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Cubbedge has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Norman seems a little lost for a moment, as Cubbedge dominates the positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barry Cubbedge dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cubbedge , right into the meat.
Cubbedge loads up on a big right hand but Norman slips the punch.

and Norman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Cubbedge is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Norman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cubbedge sprawls well. Cubbedge wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Norman gets slowly back to his feet.
Cubbedge misses the shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Norman shoots in and gets a takedown into Cubbedge 's guard.
Norman tries to free his leg and advance position but Cubbedge is retaining full guard.
Norman trying to control the position from guard on top but Cubbedge is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cubbedge bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Norman's guard.

Cubbedge wanted to stand there but Norman had control of the position.
Norman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Norman keeping moving, preventing Cubbedge from controlling successfully.
Norman keeping full guard, as Cubbedge tries to pass.
Cubbedge slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Norman is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Kombat Hangar 18, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cubbedge is looking to take a break and control but Norman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Norman wants to control but Cubbedge postures up.
Cubbedge tries to move into full mount but can't pass Norman's legs.
Norman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Cubbedge wants to control but Norman is keeping him busy.

Norman is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Cubbedge is tapping! Great win for Norman!
