PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tae Shik Cha (ranked 1508 p4p, 85 weight class) and Zhan Dhelan (ranked 1515 p4p, 86 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cha might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Disturbed - Decadence. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Tae Shik Cha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zhan Dhelan!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Cha darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Cha throws a hook but Dhelan blocks it.
Dhelan takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cha misses with a low kick.
Cha throws a low kick but it's checked well by Dhelan.
Cha looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Dhelan tries to counter by closing the distance.
A big right from Cha misses.
Cha lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

It looks like Zhan Dhelan has been cut.

Dhelan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cha throws out the jab.
Cha throws a hook but Dhelan blocks it.
Cha cracks Dhelan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cha lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dhelan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dhelan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cha lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Cha goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dhelan jumps guard but Cha stands there with Dhelan around his waist. Dhelan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cha tries to work over Dhelan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Dhelan jumps guard but Cha turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Dhelan decides to pull guard.
Cha not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dhelan is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dhelan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cha defends well.
Dhelan wants to sweep but no luck.
Cha is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dhelan keeping moving, preventing Cha from controlling successfully.
Dhelan can't keep his opponent in guard - Cha advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dhelan is looking for a sweep. Cha is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Dhelan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cha avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Dhelan is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cha rolls with it to try and escape but Dhelan cranks on the arm and Cha is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Zhan Dhelan spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
