Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelly Ewing (ranked 4678 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Davis (ranked 5780 p4p, 515 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kelly Ewing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Davis!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis moves into range and clinches up with Ewing.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Davis pulls Ewing into guard.

Ewing has gone for a leg lock! Davis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ewing's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis stands and steps away. Ewing gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Davis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ewing looking for a takedown.
Ewing fails to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ewing tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Davis smiles and moves away.

Ewing decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Ewing shoots for a takedown but Davis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

And Ewing counters with a quick kick to the body but Davis blocks it.

Davis rushes Ewing and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ewing is trying to force a seperation but Davis has the dominant position.

Davis tightens his grip and picks Ewing up, before dumping him to the ground. Ewing manages to land in guard.

Ewing is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Davis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ewing's efforts to push away.
Ewing is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Ewing tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ewing drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ewing is breathing heavily.

Davis wants the takedown. Ewing is fighting it off but Davis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ewing's guard against the cage.

Davis forces Ewing back against the cage and clinches.

Davis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Ewing manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ewing is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Davis rushes Ewing and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Davis has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ewing clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ewing is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Davis gets his way!
Ewing is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Davis slaps away a takedown attempt from Ewing, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Davis lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ewing takes a step back to recover.

Ewing looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Davis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ewing's efforts to push away.
Ewing wants to break free but Davis has control.

Davis gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ewing regains guard.

Ewing has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Davis off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Davis tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick from Davis lands but Ewing takes it in his stride.
Davis is breathing heavily.

Ewing throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Davis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ewing is in Davis's guard.

Davis scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ewing is fighting off a takedown attempt but Davis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ewing to the mat. Ewing regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
James Davis has got the better of the ground game so far.

Davis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ewing manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davis has Ewing in his guard.

Ewing cracks Davis with a solid left hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ewing wants to stand but Davis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Davis wants to stand and escape but Ewing is having none of it.

Ewing drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ewing jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ewing is looking to work some ground and pound but Davis has wrist control.
Ewing has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Davis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ewing doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ewing manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Ewing is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

James Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Ewing changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Ewing manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ewing is trying to push Davis away but Davis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ewing wants to get back to full guard.
Ewing pushes Davis off looking to stand but Davis dives back in and keeps control.

Let's hope that Davis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ewing wants to control the action here but instead Davis manages to pass to full mount!

James Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Davis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
