Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kip Buchanan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rod Snake!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buchanan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Snake tries to counter by closing the distance.

Buchanan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Buchanan tries to pull guard but Snake forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Buchanan breaks from the clinch.
Buchanan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Snake defends well and Buchanan ends up having to push Snake into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kip Buchanan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Buchanan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Snake controlling from the top position.
Snake throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snake stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Buchanan moves out of range as Snake throws a body kick.
Snake tries a head kick but it misses.
Buchanan really is a fat lump.
Snake keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Snake drives through with a takedown into guard.
Snake won't allow Buchanan to sweep him here.
Snake has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Snake content to stall in guard here.
Buchanan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Snake thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Snake controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Buchanan with a poor takedown
and Snake counters with a two punch combo.
Buchanan wants to clinch
and Snake counters with a series of strikes. Buchanan will be more careful next time no doubt.
Buchanan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Buchanan finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Snake's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Buchanan falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rod Snake!
