Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cody Myres (ranked 5907 p4p, 484 weight class) and Jamiah Monlova (ranked 22329 p4p, 566 weight class). Monlova comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Erica Kane - Speaker Knockerz kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jamiah Monlova!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monlova looks to throw a body kick

and Myres counters by clinching up.

Monlova jumps guard and drags Myres to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Myres stands up from Monlova's guard - Myres perhaps looking for a knockout.

Monlova clinches.
Myres definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Myres lands with a short shot to the head.
Monlova tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Myres smiles and moves away.
Monlova shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Myres counters by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monlova wants to get back to striking at distance but Myres won't allow it.
Myres lands with a right to the head.
Myres lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Still in the clinch, Myres scores with a nice short uppercut.
Myres lands a body punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Monlova tries to pull guard but Myres holds him up against the cage and eventually Monlova drops back down to his feet.
Cody Myres has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamiah Monlova.
Myres makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Monlova wants to take the fight to the mat but Myres manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Myres presses Monlova against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Myres scores with an uppercut up the middle.

It looks like Jamiah Monlova has been cut.
Monlova looks winded!
Myres lands a right hand that snaps the head of Monlova backwards.
Myres lands with a right to the head.
Monlova has had enough of the clinch but Myres keeps him there for the moment.
Myres lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Myres gets through Monlova's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Monlova is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Myres is defending well.
Monlova tries to pull guard but Myres forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Myres lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Myres working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Monlova has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Myres is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Myres lands a left hand that snaps the head of Monlova backwards.

Monlova is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Myres lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Monlova is rocked!
Myres digs a right hand underneath Monlova's ribcage. Monlova let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Monlova is still on wobbly legs! Can Myres finish him?
Myres pushes Monlova against the cage. Myres is working some dirty boxing. Myres pushes off with a quick right hook! Monlova goes down! Monlova tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Myres moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
