Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Ronald Dela Rosa (ranked 19774 p4p, 566 weight class) and Carlos Silverio (ranked 4994 p4p, 439 weight class). Silverio has chosen Shiro Sagisu - Angel of Doom as his entrance music. Carlos Silverio acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 9 losses; Carlos Silverio!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Silverio circles away from the clinch attempt.
And Silverio tries to counter it with a takedown but Dela Rosa pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Silverio drives through and clinches with Dela Rosa against the ropes.
Dela Rosa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Silverio pulls him back up using the underhooks.
We've been hearing reports that Dela Rosa has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Silverio pulls guard.
Silverio looking for a sweep. Not yet Silverio, not yet.

Dela Rosa drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silverio dives on top into guard.

Dela Rosa throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Silverio escapes and throws Dela Rosa's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Silverio wants to control but Dela Rosa is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dela Rosa tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Silverio presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Silverio looking to control but Dela Rosa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Dela Rosa wants to control but Silverio is having none of it.
Dela Rosa is working to get back to half guard.
Dela Rosa manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dela Rosa looking for submissions off his back.
Silverio takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Silverio is looking to advance position but Dela Rosa won't allow it.
Dela Rosa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dela Rosa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silverio is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dela Rosa.

Silverio has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Dela Rosa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dela Rosa tries to lock up and control but Silverio gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Dela Rosa tries to improve his position but Silverio has taken his back! Silverio has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Dela Rosa tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Silverio pushes Dela Rosa away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Silverio!
Carlos Silverio spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
