Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David McDonald (ranked 2745 p4p, 347 weight class) and Jackson Pollock (ranked 2624 p4p, 331 weight class). David McDonald is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, David McDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Pollock!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pollock scores with a push kick.
McDonald falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pollock counters with a nice leg kick.
Pollock's coach down at Kombat Hangar 18 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pollock's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
McDonald takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pollock misses with a few strikes there.
McDonald half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
A good leg kick by Pollock.
McDonald fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pollock lands a nice hook to McDonald's body. McDonald takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
McDonald looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A combination from Pollock does no damage.
Pollock misses with a looping right.
McDonald appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Nice uppercut lands for Pollock. That snapped McDonald's head back.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pollock let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

McDonald tries to bum rush Pollock with a series of wild strikes but Pollock uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McDonald gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pollock.
Pollock turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Pollock connects with a nice looking jab.

and McDonald decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pollock's guard.
Pollock wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
McDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pollock swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pollock keeping moving, preventing McDonald from controlling successfully.
McDonald is looking to work some ground and pound but Pollock has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pollock pushes McDonald off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McDonald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
It looked like McDonald was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
A big left from Pollock misses.
McDonald slips under a jab from Pollock.
Pollock lands a body shot.
McDonald on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Pollock lands a nice leg kick that just misses McDonald's sensitive parts.
McDonald takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jackson Pollock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pollock throws a hook but McDonald blocks it.
McDonald uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pollock.
Pollock lands a leg kick that knocks McDonald off balance momentarily.
Pollock lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

McDonald is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A big right from Pollock misses.

Pollock drives through and clinches with McDonald against the cage.
Pollock blocks an elbow strike.
McDonald tries to circle away but Pollock has him pinned against the cage.
Pollock lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down McDonald.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pollock.
McDonald's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Pollock managing to block the knees to the body from McDonald.
McDonald misses with a short punch on the inside.
Pollock lands a right hand that snaps the head of McDonald backwards.
Pollock lands a shoulder strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pollock creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Pollock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pollock uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McDonald has time to react.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pollock lands a nice shot to the body.
Pollock lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nice cross by Pollock.

Pollock has managed to clinch.
McDonald tries to pull guard but Pollock forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

McDonald ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McDonald no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

McDonald is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Pollock slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Let's hope that Pollock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Pollock is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McDonald.
Pollock digs a good hook to McDonald's body.
McDonald gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pollock scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
McDonald on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
McDonald walks into a left hand.
Pollock stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
McDonald wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pollock just misses with a punch to the body.
McDonald throws a jab but it's blocked by Pollock.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A chopping leg kick lands by Pollock.
McDonald misses with a two punch combination.
McDonald will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McDonald on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Pollock lands the left hand.
A bone on bone clash there as McDonald blocks the leg kick.
It looked like McDonald wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Pollock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pollock throws a leg kick but McDonald moved away.
Jackson Pollock seems to be getting the better of the standup.
McDonald doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
McDonald avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Pollock lands with a straight right. McDonald didn't see that one coming.
Pollock lands with a hook. McDonald tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McDonald tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pollock paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McDonald uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pollock.
As Pollock looks to move away, McDonald throws a big counter combo but Pollock just gets out of the way.
Pollock throws a quick head kick that skims the top of McDonald's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McDonald steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pollock.
Pollock missing with a left hand there. McDonald was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McDonald seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
McDonald swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pollock fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Pollock misses the target.
Nice straight punches there by Pollock. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pollock.

Pollock lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pollock misses with a body kick.
Good shot there by Pollock.
McDonald moves away from the strike by Pollock.
Pollock clobbers McDonald with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Pollock fakes a jab and throws a low kick but McDonald checks it well.
Pollock looks to land a right hand but McDonald moved out of range.
Pollock throws a low kick but McDonald moves out of range easily.
McDonald closes the distance and clinches up with Pollock, looking for a takedown. McDonald pushes Pollock against the cage but Pollock circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pollock! But no joy.
McDonald tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McDonald misses with a leg kick.
Pollock is looking to slow McDonald down with leg kicks.
McDonald doesn't manage to clinch there - Pollock circles away.
Pollock looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Pollock keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like David McDonald has been cut.
A jab from Pollock finds it's way through McDonald's defenses.
The fight stays on the outside here - McDonald looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pollock throws a front kick aimed at McDonald's knee but McDonald avoids it well.
A slow jab from Pollock misses its intended target.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Pollock's corner calls for a 1-2. Pollock obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Pollock finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
McDonald appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Pollock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on David McDonald's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


McDonald needs to keep his hands up - Pollock had a free shot at his head there.
Pollock sizes up McDonald with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


McDonald is rocked!
McDonald gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Pollock gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

During a confident post fight interview, Jackson Pollock thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
