The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maidana tries to clinch but Yamasaki moves out of range.
Maidana doesn't manage to clinch there - Yamasaki circles away.
Yamasaki unleashes a big counter combination but Maidana bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yamasaki has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Maidana tries to score with a low kick but Yamasaki moves his leg out of the way.
