PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Watt (ranked 2274 p4p, 259 weight class) and Steve Sanchez (ranked 1631 p4p, 195 weight class). Watt comes into the arena with Edmund Fitzgerald blaring out of the sound system. Sanchez has chosen Where is My Mind? by Pixies as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 38 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Watt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Watt.
A combination from Watt does no damage.
As Watt backs off Sanchez throws a huge counter combo but Watt manages to avoid it all.
Sanchez slips under a jab from Watt.
Sanchez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Watt tries to land a body kick
and Sanchez counters with a one-two to the body.

Watt fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sanchez to the ground. Watt is now in Sanchez's guard.

Sanchez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Watt presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
