Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Jr (ranked 5881 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Vinicius (ranked 6387 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jr gets caught napping as Vinicius dives in and scores a takedown. Jr manages to retain guard.
Jr is looking to stand back up but Vinicius counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jr.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vinicius on the ground.
Vinicius's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Vinicius slips a nice elbow through Jr's hands, connecting with Jr's forehead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Still in half guard, Vinicius seems content to control.

Vinicius takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Vinicius is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Vinicius should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Let's hope that Vinicius has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

and Vinicius counters with a shoot takedown. Jr fights it but they end up in guard.
Vinicius is standing up over Jr. Jr looks to escape but Vinicius dives into side control.

An attempted straight right counter from Jr misses the target.
Jr shoots in for a takedown but Vinicius shows good takedown defense.

and Vinicius counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vinicius.
Vinicius sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jr's guard.
Vinicius has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vinicius is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Vinicius extends the arm and Jr is forced to tap!
