The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kotkaniemi tries to counter with a takedown but Waters is quick to defend against it.
Waters throws a head kick that misses.
Kotkaniemi misses with a hook to the body
enabling Waters to counter with a crisp jab.
Waters looks to throw the jab but Kotkaniemi is out of range.

and Waters counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kotkaniemi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Waters sprawls well initially but Kotkaniemi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kotkaniemi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Kotkaniemi is thwarting Waters's attempts to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kotkaniemi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Waters with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
