Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marlin Scars (ranked 4296 p4p, 352 weight class) and Circie Marcelo (ranked 5444 p4p, 394 weight class). The key to victory for Marlin Scars has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marlin Scars!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Circie Marcelo!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcelo fails to land the takedown.

Scars fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marcelo, pushing him back against the cage.
Scars changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Marcelo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Marcelo gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Scars counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scars.
Marcelo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Scars showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Marcelo seems keen to control Scars's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scars trying to control but Marcelo is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marcelo is on top in guard.

Scars really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Marcelo won't allow Scars to get back to his feet.
Scars is trying to control the position but Marcelo postures up.
Scars looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marcelo is one step ahead there.
Scars not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Marcelo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Scars will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Scars tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Scars working a defensive guard here.
Marcelo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Marcelo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Marcelo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Scars sprawls well initially but Marcelo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marcelo with the ground and pound but Scars uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Marcelo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Marcelo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marlin Scars will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Marcelo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Scars tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marcelo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Marcelo.

Marcelo is trying to get an arm triangle but Scars is defending well.
Marcelo tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marcelo wants to control but Scars is keeping him busy.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Scars tries to improve position but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marcelo wants to stand but Scars is controlling his arm.
Marcelo is chipping away with strikes.
Scars takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Marcelo controls the position from side control.
You can see the frustration on Scars's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Marcelo has an Americana. Scars didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Marcelo is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Marcelo hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Circie Marcelo!
Circie Marcelo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
