Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hobert Vance (ranked 23395 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Mike (ranked 4539 p4p, 418 weight class). Hobert Vance has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hobert Vance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Mike!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vance gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mike to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mike stays in close to Vance's body and controls the position.
Mike is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Mike must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Vance trying to control the position.
Mike wants to stand but Vance is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mike controls from within his opponent's guard.

Mike is looking to stand up but Vance won't let him.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mike trying to control but Vance is working from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Vance avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mike tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Vance counters with a straight right hand.
Mike swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Mike shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vance manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Vance keeping moving, preventing Mike from controlling successfully.
Mike is stalling in the full guard.
Mike postures up in Vance's guard and throws a big left but Vance blocks it.
Mike stopping the sweep attempt from Vance.
Mike trying to control but Vance is working from the bottom.

Mike is pushing down on Vance's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vance is fighting to maintain full guard but Mike has managed to sneak the leg through.
Vance has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mike is working away from the top position though.
Vance is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mike is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Mike is just content to waste time from the top position. Vance takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Vance is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mike defends well.
Mike is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vance looking to control.
Vance really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vance wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Mike moves in looking to clinch but Vance pushes him off.

Mike dives in and scores a takedown into Vance's guard.
Vance pulls Mike in close to prevent any damage.
Mike seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Vance's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Mike looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Vance!
Vance is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mike off and has taken his back!
Vance trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Mike trying to control but not successfully.

Vance is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Mike up.
Mike is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Vance.

Mike has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tyson Mike has got the better of the ground game so far.
Can Mike hold on?! Vance is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Vance keeps control of the position as Mike tries to break free.
A lull in the action here.

Mike defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Vance's arms.
Vance controlling the position well here. Mike rolled but Vance kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Vance connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Mike to escape the position.
Vance will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mike is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Vance.
Vance seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mike for as long as he can get away with.
Vance has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Vance scores with punches and elbows.
Vance lands with a hammerfist to the side of Mike's head.
Mike is trying to stand back up.

I really don't envy Mike right now.
Mike staying busy and making it hard for Vance to control.
Vance is hanging on to Mike's back as he tries to escape.

Mike tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Vance wants to finish this one by submission but Mike is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vance.

Mike wants to get back to his feet.
Vance wants to control the pace but Mike is squirming around nicely.
Mike tries to hold on but Vance postures up.

Mike is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Vance is staying active.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vance takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Vance lands a couple of good shots and Mike has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Vance throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Mike!
Vance lands with a hammerfist to the side of Mike's head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mike looking very determined here, making life difficult for Vance.
Mike is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Mike is breathing heavily.
The referee is taking a good look at Mike as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Vance!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hobert Vance dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Vance enables Mike to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vance manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mike is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Mike lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Vance is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vance is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mike engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Mike throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mike is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mike drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mike is staying tight to Vance's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Mike stands up and beckons Vance to his feet.
Mike misses with a right hand
and Vance counters with a nice uppercut.

Vance gets caught flat footed, as Mike shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mike takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mike passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Mike wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vance keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mike is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vance has escaped the position, nice work there.

Mike goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Vance has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mike but great work by Vance.
A lull in the action here.
Vance scores with a couple of short elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vance is chipping away with strikes.
Vance landing a few strikes.
Mike takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Mike seems a little lost for a moment, as Vance dominates the positioning.
Vance has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Vance lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mike down.
Mike being controlled for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I think Mike has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
