Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglass Flores (ranked 7206 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Williams (ranked 4072 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglass Flores has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Douglass Flores!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, William Williams!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Skip Squint and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Flores. No joy for Williams on that attempt.
Flores checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Williams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Williams showed some decent athleticism there.
Flores has hold of Williams's hands but Williams slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Williams slows the pace down in half guard.
Williams prevents Flores from standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Flores is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Flores pushes Williams off looking to stand but Williams dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Williams is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Flores wants to improve his position but Williams is controlling well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Flores manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Williams keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Flores really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Flores is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well.
Williams stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Flores manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flores. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Williams is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Flores throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Williams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Williams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Williams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Flores is retaining full guard.
Williams stands and throws Flores's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Williams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Flores, who protects the arm well.
Williams tries to move into full mount but can't pass Flores's legs.

Williams goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Flores rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Williams's guard! Nice work there by Flores!
Flores in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Williams seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Williams is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Flores won't allow Williams to get back to his feet.
Flores throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Williams works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Flores wants to stand but Williams has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Flores thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Flores is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Williams is looking to improve his position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Williams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Williams has Flores up against the cage in a clinch.

Williams's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Williams has hold of one of Flores's legs. Flores is fighting the takedown attempt but Williams gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Williams stands and throws Flores's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Flores is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back!
You can see the frustration on Williams's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Williams is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Williams is covering up but some of the strikes from Flores are getting through and doing damage.
Flores keeps control of the position as Williams tries to break free.

Douglass Flores overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Flores.

Flores doesn't have the hooks in and Williams manages to turn into his guard.
Williams distracts Flores with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Flores looking to hit a scissor sweep but Williams is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but William Williams will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Williams is trying to trip Flores. He has hold of a leg but Flores is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Williams persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Williams has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Williams throws a knee to the head but misses.

Williams darts in and clinches Flores up against the cage.

Williams works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Williams prevents Flores from getting back to his feet.
Williams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Flores is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Williams is controlling him.

Flores is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Flores is looking to stand back up but Williams counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Flores.

Williams decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Williams looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Flores attempts a counter takedown but Williams avoids it well and moves away.
Williams scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Flores lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Williams backs up against the cage.

Williams gets a clinch.

Williams turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Williams tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Williams has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Williams decides to stand back up.
Douglass Flores is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Williams has a takedown stuffed.
Douglass Flores has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
William Williams is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams goes for a double leg but Flores avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Flores continues to drive forward.

And that's the end of the fight!
William Williams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Williams winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
