Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Mokete (ranked 3649 p4p, 378 weight class) and David Warner (ranked 3565 p4p, 372 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Mokete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Warner!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Warner. Mokete does a little dance to reset his feet.
Warner jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mokete scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Warner throws a predictable looking body shot

and Mokete counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Warner!

Mokete is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Warner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mokete is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Warner has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Warner prevents Mokete from improving position.
Mokete is looking to take a break and control but Warner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mokete is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Warner will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Mokete thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mokete is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Warner knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Mokete goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Warner has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mokete but great work by Warner.
Mokete gets back to half guard.

Mokete is looking for a sweep. Warner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Warner stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Warner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mokete connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Warner lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Mokete bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
David Warner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Warner lands a jab to Mokete's midsection.
Sloppy strikes from Mokete. Those never looked like landing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mokete clinches up against the cage.
Mokete is trying to drag Warner to the mat but Warner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Mokete fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Warner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mokete scores with a hook to the body. Warner takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Warner throws a shot from downtown. Mokete moves away and avoids it.
Mokete shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Warner sprawls well. Warner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mokete gets slowly back to his feet.
We've been informed that Warner has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Mokete. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mokete clinches up with Warner and pushes him back against the cage.

Warner wanted to stand there but Mokete had control of the position.

Warner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mokete has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Warner has managed to get both his arms back between Mokete's legs - danger averted.
Mokete wants to control but Warner passes easily into half guard.
Mokete is trying to maintain the position but Warner is very close to passing his half guard.
Mokete looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexander Mokete will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Warner walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
David Warner seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Mokete shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mokete was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Warner throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Warner lands a nice looking body shot.
Warner connects with the punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Warner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mokete stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mokete takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Warner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mokete.
Donk. Warner catches Mokete right on the button with a cross.
Warner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mokete.
Warner scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.


It looks like Alexander Mokete has been cut.
Warner on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Mokete lands with a right hand.

Warner lunges at Mokete with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mokete's hand.
Warner takes a swing at Mokete's ribcage but misses.
Mokete drops down looking for a counter takedown but Warner sprawls and moves away.
Warner thuds his right hand into Mokete's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Alexander Mokete seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mokete swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Warner jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Warner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mokete moves away.
Warner misses with an uppercut. Mokete saw that one coming.
Mokete tries to move into range but Warner moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Warner throws a looping overhand right but Mokete ducks down to avoid it.
Mokete tries to counter with a takedown but Warner is quick to defend against it.
Mokete shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Warner but Warner pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Mokete counters with a nice double leg into side control. Warner won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mokete goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Warner rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mokete's guard! Nice work there by Warner!

Mokete has a closed guard, preventing Warner from standing up.

Warner is posturing up here but Mokete has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Warner tries to roll out but it's too tight and Warner has to tap! Slick submission there by Mokete!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alexander Mokete!
