Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cairo Silva (ranked 1246 p4p, 171 weight class) and Pollo Tropical (ranked 765 p4p, 110 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a hook but Tropical avoids it easily.
Tropical swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.
Tropical throws a right hand that misses
letting Silva counter with a right hand.
Tropical moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Tropical throws a hook to the side of Silva's head but Silva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Silva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Tropical has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Tropical throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Tropical moves out of range of the strikes.
Tropical checks a leg kick nicely.
Silva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Silva tries to clinch but Tropical is having none of it.
Tropical is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Silva with a body shot.
Tropical throws out a leg kick but Silva moves out of range and Tropical only half commits.
Tropical displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silva throws out the jab.

Silva pivots, looking for a leg kick but Tropical is out of range and Silva settles back down.

Silva loads up on a big right hand but Tropical slips the punch.
Tropical looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Silva swings for the body but Tropical moves out of range.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but Tropical ducks down to avoid it.
Tropical has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Silva.

Silva walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Tropical checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Tropical misses with a series of wild punches.
Silva lands a jab to the head.
Silva thuds his right hand into Tropical's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Silva misses with an uppercut. Tropical saw that one coming.
Silva thows a left - swing and a miss!

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
Silva misses with the head strike.
Tropical managing to block the knees to the body from Silva.

Silva keeps control of Tropical as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Tropical breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Silva throws the left hand but Tropical avoids the punch easily.
Silva swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Tropical throws a hook to the side of Silva's head but Silva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tropical with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Silva to score with a decent uppercut.
Silva lands with a right hand.
Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Tropical connects with a good right hand that stumbles Silva. Silva circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It seemed like Tropical was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Cairo Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tropical is trying to push Silva away but Silva has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Tropical swings wildly with an uppercut but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tropical blocks an uppercut.

Tropical has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment.
Silva swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Tropical blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Silva pushes Tropical back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tropical.
Tropical wants to break free but Silva has control.
Silva misses with a body punch.
Silva prevents Tropical from breaking the clinch.

Tropical breaks from the clinch.
Silva throws a right and a left that Tropical avoids nicely.
Tropical now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Silva blocks a jab.
Silva jabs Tropical right on the nose. Tropical blinks but takes it well.
Tropical takes a jab right on the kisser.
Tropical avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Silva bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
An inside leg kick from Silva misses.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Tropical pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cairo Silva dominated that round.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Silva looks to throw the jab but Tropical is out of range.

Silva sizes up Tropical with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

A little jabbing left from Tropical on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Tropical sends Silva crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Tropical is motioning to the referee to let Silva up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Tropical tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pollo Tropical decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
