Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hideo Kenta (ranked 24831 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Neffgen (ranked 3568 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenta's entrance music is ISIS. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hideo Kenta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Christian Neffgen!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neffgen forces Kenta back against the cage and clinches.
Neffgen misses with an elbow strike.
Neffgen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kenta is defending well for now.

Neffgen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Neffgen clinches up with Kenta and pushes him back against the cage.
Neffgen is leaning against Kenta and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Neffgen gets control of Kenta's arms and successfully pulls guard. Neffgen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kenta content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Kenta wants to get up but he can't break Neffgen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neffgen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kenta uses from the top position.

Neffgen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kenta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kenta could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kenta drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Neffgen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kenta has Neffgen in his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kenta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Neffgen manages to get himself to full guard.

Kenta looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neffgen's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Neffgen's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Well Neffgen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
