PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Garth (ranked 3756 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Nash (ranked 6854 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. The key to victory for Jimmy Garth has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jimmy Garth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Nash!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garth dives in and scores a takedown into Nash's guard.

Nash has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Garth is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Garth wants the takedown. Nash is fighting it off but Garth persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nash's guard against the cage.

Nash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garth. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Garth seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nash does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Garth could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Garth thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nash's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garth rushes Nash and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nash can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nash gets caught napping as Garth dives in and scores a takedown. Nash manages to retain guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Garth connects with a nice short shot to Nash's temple.

Garth is stalling here. Nash is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Garth seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nash has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Garth, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
