Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raul Kyshenko (ranked 2105 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Vein (ranked 4673 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Raul Kyshenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Vein!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vein shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kyshenko as he jumps to the side.
Kyshenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vein circles away.
Vein dives in for a single leg takedown but Kyshenko sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Vein takes the fight into the clinch.
Kyshenko can't get the takedown.

Vein breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kyshenko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vein defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raul Kyshenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vein shoots in and drives through. Kyshenko sprawls well.
Vein shoots for a takedown but Kyshenko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vein changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Vein keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Nice takedown defense from Kyshenko. No joy for Vein on that attempt.

Kyshenko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kyshenko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vein is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kyshenko off and has taken his back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kyshenko rolls, trying to escape but Vein keeps control of the position.
Kyshenko is working hard here to advance position.
Vein wants to control but Kyshenko manages to buck him off and is now in Vein's guard! Nice work there by Kyshenko!

Kyshenko is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kyshenko stands and throws Vein's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kyshenko prevents Vein from escaping the position.
Vein is looking to regain half guard here but Kyshenko keeps moving and retains side control.

Kyshenko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vein has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kyshenko trying to control the action but Vein is working from the bottom.
Vein manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Still in half guard, Vein seems content to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Raul Kyshenko will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Vein tries to bum rush Kyshenko with a series of wild strikes but Kyshenko uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kyshenko has Vein pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vein manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kyshenko wants to take the fight to the mat but Vein manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Kyshenko is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vein is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vein has escaped and now he's on top!

Vein throws a strike but Kyshenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Vein is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vein keeping moving, preventing Kyshenko from controlling successfully.
Vein has Kyshenko pulled in close to control his posture.
Kyshenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vein swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Vein fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kyshenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vein.

Kyshenko looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kyshenko is keen to just control but Vein is a slippery customer.
Raul Kyshenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kyshenko is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Vein to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Vein is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kyshenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kyshenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kyshenko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vein swivels and escapes.

Kyshenko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kyshenko lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kyshenko moves out of range as Vein throws a body kick.
Vein throws a head kick that misses.

Vein moves into range and clinches up with Kyshenko.

Kyshenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Raul Kyshenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kyshenko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vein sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kyshenko somewhat.
Raul Kyshenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vein will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kyshenko is looking to advance position but Vein won't allow it.
Vein wants to control but Kyshenko is keeping busy.

Raul Kyshenko decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
