Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Nouveau (ranked 2524 p4p, 137 weight class) and Genji Kamogawa (ranked 2538 p4p, 138 weight class). Kamogawa has chosen The Veer Union - Bitter End as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Theodore Nouveau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Genji Kamogawa!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ron Honeybunn and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nouveau throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kamogawa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nouveau is in Kamogawa's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nouveau drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nouveau jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kamogawa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Nouveau passes Kamogawa's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nouveau is working for a kimura but Kamogawa is defending it quite comfortably.
Nouveau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kamogawa is looking for a sweep. Nouveau is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nouveau is looking for a kimura here.
Kamogawa tries to get to full guard but Nouveau has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nouveau looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Nouveau is working hard here to advance position.
Nouveau is trying to control. Kamogawa wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kamogawa has a hand on Nouveau's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Nouveau takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Nouveau wants to finish this one by submission but Kamogawa is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nouveau.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kamogawa can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nouveau lands a nice shot to the head.
Kamogawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nouveau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nouveau sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Kamogawa is squirming around, avoiding Nouveau's attempts to control the action.
Nouveau prevents Kamogawa from getting the reversal.
Nouveau lands a big shot there that rocks Kamogawa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Nouveau lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Kamogawa hang on?

Nouveau has hold of Kamogawa's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kamogawa manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kamogawa tries to hold on but Nouveau postures up.

Nouveau looking for a guillotine from mount but Kamogawa is having none of it.

Nouveau jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kamogawa manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Nouveau in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kamogawa tries to buck Nouveau off but Nouveau is having none of it.

Nouveau works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Kamogawa is looking to reverse the position.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Nouveau tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Nouveau looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Kamogawa is trying to improve his position.
Nouveau tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kamogawa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Nouveau cracks Kamogawa with a big right hand but Kamogawa just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Nouveau tries to move to mount but Kamogawa blocks the move with his legs.
Kamogawa parries the strikes from Nouveau easily there. Nouveau is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kamogawa to escape.
Nouveau looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kamogawa is avoiding damage well.
Nouveau connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kamogawa some visible discomfort.
Kamogawa avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nouveau.
Kamogawa is trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nouveau tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Nouveau scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kamogawa to see if he's OK.

The strikes coming from Nouveau are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kamogawa tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Nouveau passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kamogawa!
Kamogawa wants to hold on but Nouveau pushes him away.
Kamogawa is trying desperately to improve position.

Nouveau with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nouveau is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kamogawa has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Theodore Nouveau dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Nouveau tries to clinch there but Kamogawa circles away.
Nouveau takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kamogawa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Nouveau can pounce on him.
Kamogawa thuds a left hand into Nouveau's body.
Nouveau fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kamogawa manages to avoid it.
Kamogawa scores with a punch to the head.
Nouveau throws a body kick that misses
and Kamogawa scores with a counter punch that sends Nouveau to the canvas! Kamogawa smells blood - he's punishing Nouveau with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Nouveau has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Genji Kamogawa!
An out of breath Genji Kamogawa thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
