Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Don Kosta (ranked 5140 p4p, 444 weight class) and Lauris Darzins (ranked 3291 p4p, 327 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Kosta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lauris Darzins!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darzins lands a nice looking body shot.

Darzins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Darzins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kosta tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Darzins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Darzins trying to control the action but Kosta is working from the bottom.
Kosta tries to improve position but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Darzins decides to stand back up.

Darzins shoots in and bounces Kosta off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kosta keeping moving, preventing Darzins from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Darzins trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kosta's guard.

Kosta is looking for a triangle but Darzins pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Darzins lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kosta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Darzins manages to get himself to full guard.


Kosta has gone for a leg lock! Darzins slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kosta's guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.

Darzins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kosta is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kosta has escaped and now he's on top!


Kosta drops back looking for a leg! Darzins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Darzins manages to kick Kosta off! Kosta jumps back into Darzins's guard.
Darzins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kosta is controlling him.
Kosta is looking to advance position but Darzins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kosta can't escape the position.
Darzins thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Darzins with the ground and pound from mount.
Darzins throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kosta because Darzins loaded up on that one.
Kosta sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Darzins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kosta keeps working.
Kosta wants to improve his position but Darzins is controlling well.
Kosta manages to get to full guard.
Kosta might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kosta is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Darzins defends well.

Kosta throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Darzins escapes and throws Kosta's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kosta is looking to regain half guard here but Darzins keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lauris Darzins dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Darzins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kosta napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Darzins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kosta has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kosta tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Darzins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kosta gets back to half guard.

Kosta looks like he's trying to stand up.

Kosta is staying active underneath Darzins, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kosta looking for submissions off his back.
Well, if Darzins is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Darzins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kosta keeps working.

Darzins stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Lauris Darzins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Darzins fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kosta to the ground. Darzins is now in Kosta's guard.

Kosta looking for a guillotine here but Darzins defends easily.

Darzins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Darzins trying to control the position from guard on top but Kosta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kosta is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Darzins trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kosta's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Darzins lying in Kosta's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Kosta decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Darzins taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
