PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ameri Can (ranked 2467 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Baker (ranked 2843 p4p, 0 weight class). Can kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is For Heavy Metal we will die!. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ameri Can!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Baker!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Can has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Can there as he acknowledges the shot.
Baker is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Can lands a slapping body shot.
Baker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Can was well out of range. Poor timing from Baker.
Baker tries to close the distance and clinch but Can swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Baker throws a left and a right that both miss
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Can ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Can's jab looks to have found its range, popping Baker under the eye.
Baker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Can eats them both and turns towards Baker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Can is looking to slow Baker down with leg kicks.
Can throws a leg kick which misses Baker's front leg but catches the back leg as Baker tries to avoid it.
Can connects with the punch.
Can lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Baker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Can counters with an inside leg kick.
Can throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Baker on the side of the head.
Baker lands with a cross.
We've been told by Can's head coaches at Heavy Metal that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Can lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baker throws a left and a right that both miss
and Can counters with a nice body kick.
Can scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Can is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Baker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Can throws a big counter combination but Baker scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Can lands with a right that hurts Baker. Baker looks to clinch but Can throws a short knee that drops Baker. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Ameri Can!
Ameri Can tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
Tom Baker was interviewed post fight and said 'Actors are able to trick themselves into treating anything as fantastic. It's a kind of madness, really.'.
