PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gatekeeper Devil (ranked 6853 p4p, 535 weight class) and Sandee Gorgrip (ranked 4021 p4p, 408 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Devil takes the fight into the clinch.

Gorgrip jumps guard but Devil stands there with Gorgrip around his waist. Gorgrip gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Devil gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Devil pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gorgrip is keeping the position for now.
Devil would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Devil stands and throws Gorgrip's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Devil cracks Gorgrip with a big right hand but Gorgrip just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Devil tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Devil has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gorgrip manages to work his way to half guard, despite Devil's best efforts.

Devil is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Devil drops back looking for a leg! Gorgrip is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gorgrip manages to kick Devil off! Devil jumps back into Gorgrip's guard.

Devil got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gorgrip has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Devil has managed to get both his arms back between Gorgrip's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gorgrip escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Devil gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gorgrip has his foot on Devil's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Devil works his way back into a safe position though.

Gorgrip has his feet on Devil's thighs here. He's pushed Devil off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Devil screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
