Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jed Simpson (ranked 4657 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frederik Weinstein (ranked 6089 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson is looking to slow Weinstein down with leg kicks.
Weinstein closes this distance looking for a takedown but Simpson circles away.
Simpson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Weinstein.

And Weinstein tries to counter it with a takedown but Simpson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Simpson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Weinstein stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Weinstein wants it to stay on the feet.

Simpson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Weinstein's guard.

Weinstein escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Simpson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Weinstein wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weinstein bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Simpson's guard.

Simpson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Weinstein gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Weinstein controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Weinstein content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Weinstein seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Simpson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Weinstein stacks Simpson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Weinstein!
Simpson is breathing heavily.

Weinstein lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Simpson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
It looks like Weinstein might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Weinstein looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Oh Simpson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Weinstein is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Simpson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Weinstein connects with a bit shot that sees Simpson covering up! More strikes from Weinstein and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Weinstein is our winner by TKO!
