PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kario Rack (ranked 3492 p4p, 399 weight class) and Darius McCrae (ranked 4960 p4p, 513 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kario Rack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius McCrae!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from McCrae.
Rack defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McCrae.

and Rack decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McCrae's guard.
Kario Rack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darius McCrae.

McCrae had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rack defends it easily.

McCrae isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rack stacks McCrae on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rack!

McCrae looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Rack pushes past his half guard into mount!

Rack manages to capitalize on a mistake by McCrae to take his back!

Rack has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, McCrae has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
McCrae felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Rack keeps control of the position easily here as McCrae tries to buck him off.
McCrae wants to escape the position.
McCrae manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rack's guard. Nice work there by McCrae.

McCrae drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rack looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rack looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rack!

Rack looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
McCrae is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rack postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McCrae looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rack is trying to stick to McCrae's back but McCrae is turning into Rack. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rack's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by McCrae.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McCrae doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rack counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Rack got a little sloppy there for a moment and McCrae has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rack has managed to get both his arms back between McCrae's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rack is staying tight to McCrae's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Rack has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
McCrae sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

McCrae is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rack pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rack seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


McCrae has his takedown stuffed

and Rack counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

McCrae has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rack can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McCrae is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rack is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCrae has his feet on Rack's thighs here. He's pushed Rack off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Rack screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
