Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Petrov (ranked 6323 p4p, 459 weight class) and Jake Roberts (ranked 6231 p4p, 454 weight class). Petrov comes into the arena with They want too see me fall blaring out of the sound system. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Petrov was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Roberts with a poor takedown
and Roberts takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Petrov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Roberts is fending him off so far but Petrov persists. Nope, Roberts circles away and we're back to standing.
Roberts throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Petrov's waist but Petrov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roberts off to one side.
Petrov throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
No joy there for Petrov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Petrov moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Petrov tries to bum rush Roberts with a series of wild strikes but Roberts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Petrov. Roberts does a little dance to reset his feet.

Petrov dives in for a single leg takedown but Roberts sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Horrible takedown attempt by Roberts or perhaps it was just good defense by Petrov, which made it look bad.
Ivan Petrov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Roberts.
