Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyrone Waters (ranked 2134 p4p, 272 weight class) and David Unsworth (ranked 2838 p4p, 334 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Waters might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Crushing Ice - Chris Travis. Tyrone Waters has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Unsworth!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unsworth's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Unsworth duly obliges.


It looks like Tyrone Waters has been cut.
Unsworth tries to bum rush Waters with a series of wild strikes but Waters uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Waters thinks about countering with a head kick.
Unsworth is looking to clinch but Waters is avoiding it.

Waters lands a big head kick that sends Unsworth tumbling to the mat! Waters takes a step backwards and waves Unsworth back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like David Unsworth has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Waters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Unsworth can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Unsworth controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Let's hope that Unsworth has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Unsworth wants to pass the guard but Waters is keeping the position.

Unsworth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Waters counters with a big head kick but Unsworth shrugs it off.
Waters misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Unsworth steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Waters.
Unsworth scores with a jab. Waters acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Waters looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Unsworth cracks Waters with a good jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but David Unsworth will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Unsworth stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Unsworth throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Waters.
Unsworth moves to clinch but Waters breaks away
and Waters counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tyrone Waters is winning the standup battle so far.
Unsworth throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Waters counter with a right hand.
Waters misses with a wild combination.
Waters has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Waters throws a lazy head kick
and Unsworth counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Waters tries to bum rush Unsworth with a series of wild strikes but Unsworth uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Unsworth moves to clinch but Waters breaks away
and Waters counters with a straight right hand.


That has opened up David Unsworth's cut even more.

Waters throws a head kick but Unsworth moves out of range.

Unsworth tries to close the distance and clinch up but Waters swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Waters swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Unsworth lands a head shot.

Unsworth drops Waters with a beautiful combination! Waters stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Unsworth is looking for the KO!

Waters swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Unsworth counters with a crisp right that sends Waters to the canvas! Unsworth follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
