Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ignacio Henson (ranked 4120 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mati Karppinen (ranked 7211 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mati Karppinen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karppinen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Henson moves into the clinch successfully.

Henson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Karppinen regains guard immediately.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Karppinen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Henson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Karppinen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Karppinen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Henson as he jumps to the side.

Mati Karppinen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Henson counters with a nice uppercut.
Karppinen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Henson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
