Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quincy Fapple (ranked 3235 p4p, 398 weight class) and Devon Finnes (ranked 3463 p4p, 415 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Quincy Fapple!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Devon Finnes!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finnes is looking to clinch but Fapple is avoiding it.
Fapple is looking to counter punch.
Devon Finnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Finnes tries to clinch there but Fapple circles away.
The fighters circling - Finnes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fapple throwing a counter right hand but Finnes manages to avoid it.
Finnes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Finnes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fapple.
Fapple thuds his right hand into Finnes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Fapple avoids the head kick by Finnes.
Fapple keeps the fight on the outside.
Fapple is looking to counter punch.
Fapple stuffs the takedown attempt from Finnes. Finnes gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fapple uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Finnes.
An attempted straight right counter from Fapple misses the target.
Fapple scores with a nice strike.
Finnes wants to clinch
and Fapple counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Fapple throws a big shot that misses.
A countering left hand to the body from Finnes misses.
Finnes tries to clinch up but Fapple circles away and keeps his distance.
Fapple avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Finnes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Fapple cracks Finnes with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Finnes throws a nice looking combination but Fapple bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fapple takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Finnes tries to close the distance and clinch but Fapple swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
An attempted straight right counter from Fapple misses the target.
Finnes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fapple.
Fapple avoids a punch combination nicely.
Finnes tries to clinch there but Fapple circles away.
Finnes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Fapple's head backwards.
Finnes moves out of range of the strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Finnes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fapple quickly recovers to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Finnes is keen to just control but Fapple is a slippery customer.
Finnes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Finnes is trying to control. Fapple wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Finnes stops Fapple from getting back to his feet.
Fapple on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fapple tries to get out of the position.
Fapple is refusing to be controlled, as Finnes sits in half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Finnes tries to clinch up
and Fapple counters with a straight right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A lazy body kick from Finnes
and Fapple counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fapple is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Finnes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fapple.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Finnes is defended easily by Fapple.
Fapple loads up on a big right hand but Finnes slips the punch.
Finnes works over Fapple's head and body with a nice combination.
Finnes misses with a hook
and Fapple counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fapple looks to land a right hand but Finnes moved out of range.
It seemed like Finnes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A slow jab from Fapple misses its intended target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Finnes moves in looking to clinch but Fapple pushes him off.
Fapple pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Finnes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A little feinted left hand from Fapple on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Fapple drops his hands momentarily and Finnes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Finnes tries to clinch but Fapple moves out of range.
Fapple throws a hook but Finnes avoids it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Finnes jabs Fapple to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Finnes is looking to clinch but Fapple is avoiding it.
Fapple waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Finnes.
Finnes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Fapple counter with a right hand.
Finnes lands a nice shot to the body.

Fapple gets tackled into the cage by Finnes. Finnes maintains the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Quincy Fapple will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Finnes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fapple paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Fapple misses its target.
Finnes lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Finnes tries to clinch up but Fapple circles away and keeps his distance.
Fapple moves away from the strike by Finnes.
Finnes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fapple swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Finnes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fapple sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fapple swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Finnes moves in looking to clinch but Fapple pushes him off.
A quick step to the side and Fapple tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fapple misses with a body shot.
Finnes stuns Fapple with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Finnes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fapple manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fapple avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
It looked like Fapple was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Finnes.
Finnes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fapple paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fapple takes one on the button.
Finnes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Finnes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Finnes throws a head kick that misses
and Finnes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Finnes's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Finnes duly obliges.
Finnes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fapple counters with a stiff right hand.
Fapple pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Fapple blocks a head kick by Finnes.
Fapple throwing a counter right hand but Finnes manages to avoid it.
A big left from Fapple misses.
Finnes slips under a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Finnes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fapple was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Fapple keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Finnes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Finnes slips a straight right by Fapple.
A nice side step and Finnes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Finnes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fapple was well out of range. Poor timing from Finnes.
Fapple's jab looks to have found its range, popping Finnes under the eye.
Fapple loads up on a big right hand but Finnes slips the punch.
A nice side step and Finnes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Fapple gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Fapple circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Finnes to the canvas! Finnes doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Fapple keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quincy Fapple!
Our winner, Quincy Fapple, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
