Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pollo Tropical (ranked 658 p4p, 88 weight class) and Leeland Lillard (ranked 1008 p4p, 143 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pollo Tropical!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

30 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Leeland Lillard!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tropical checks the leg kick nicely there.
Tropical works Lillard's body with a nice hook.
Leeland Lillard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lillard throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Tropical counters with a right hand to the body.

Lillard has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Tropical looks to score with a jab to the body but Lillard is just out of range.

Tropical lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lillard circles away quickly and effectively.

Lillard shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lillard showed some decent athleticism there.

Tropical tries to roll over but Lillard keeps him under control.

Lillard tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lillard has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tropical's face.

Lillard wants to control the action but instead Tropical gets a body lock and reverses into Lillard's guard! Nice work!

Lillard is pulling down on Tropical's head. It's preventing any offense from Tropical, at least for the moment.
Lillard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tropical is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lillard wants to control the position but Tropical says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Lillard is looking for a sweep. Tropical is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lillard has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Lillard throws a lazy right hand but Tropical sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Tropical uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lillard.
Lillard has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Tropical counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Lillard has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tropical finds it's way round the side to connect with Lillard's head.

It looked like Tropical was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lillard.
Lillard throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Tropical takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Tropical takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lillard is taking a breather. Tropical says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lillard thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tropical's head.

Tropical is controlling Lillard's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Lillard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lillard throws a strike but Tropical avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Leeland Lillard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
