Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diarmuid Curry (ranked 215 p4p, 9 weight class) and Thierry Paulin (ranked 271 p4p, 5 weight class). Curry comes into the arena with Epic Celtic Music blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curry avoids the body shot from Paulin.
Paulin looks to score with a jab to the body but Curry is just out of range.
Curry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Paulin was well out of range. Poor timing from Curry.

Paulin lands a really nice looking cross but Curry seems unphased.

Paulin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Curry.

We've been informed that Paulin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Paulin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Curry has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Curry takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Curry on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Paulin throws a series of punches but Curry moves out of range.
Curry has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The cut above Thierry Paulin's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Curry lands with a good body shot.
Curry on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Paulin throws the kick towards the body but Curry avoids it.
Paulin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Curry uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Paulin has time to react.
Paulin throws a predictable looking body shot
and Curry counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Thierry Paulin will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Curry moves out of range as Paulin strikes.

Paulin cracks Curry on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Curry falls backwards against the cage. Paulin follows up with more strikes that drop Curry to his knees. Paulin keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Curry! This one is all over!
