The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Regueiro missing with a left hand there. Mahoney was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mahoney throws a hook but Regueiro avoids it easily.
Regueiro jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Regueiro throws a body kick that misses.
We've been informed that Mahoney has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mahoney looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Regueiro has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Mahoney has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Regueiro to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mahoney is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Regueiro pulls down on the head and he's put Mahoney to sleep! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Julio Regueiro thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
