Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Diggs (ranked 2099 p4p, 221 weight class) and Scott John (ranked 840 p4p, 103 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Diggs lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looked like Diggs was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from John.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
John wants to stand but Diggs is controlling the position.
Diggs wants to control from the top but John keeps moving.

John has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
John swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Diggs.

John must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

John got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diggs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, John has managed to get both his arms back between Diggs's legs - danger averted.

John drops Diggs with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Diggs looks back up at him and smiles so John waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diggs gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! John points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Diggs wakes up just in time to hear John thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
