Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johan Ubercutt (ranked 2457 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bashaad Al Hammad (ranked 7052 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johan Ubercutt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bashaad Al Hammad!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Hammad shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ubercutt but Ubercutt pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Al Hammad will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ubercutt pushes Al Hammad up against the cage in a clinch.
Al Hammad tries for a takedown but Ubercutt manages to get underhooks.
Johan Ubercutt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bashaad Al Hammad.

Ubercutt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Al Hammad misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Al Hammad takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ubercutt tries to sprawl but Al Hammad drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al Hammad is trying to control the action in half guard but Ubercutt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Ubercutt wants to stand up but Al Hammad is controlling him.

Al Hammad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ubercutt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ubercutt forces Al Hammad back against the cage and clinches.

Al Hammad has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ubercutt after a bit of a struggle.

Al Hammad must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ubercutt seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Ubercutt will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ubercutt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ubercutt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ubercutt wants to sweep here but Al Hammad controlling him for the moment.
Ubercutt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Al Hammad's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Al Hammad wants to sweep but no luck.
Ubercutt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ubercutt moves into the clinch.

Ubercutt lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Bashaad Al Hammad has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johan Ubercutt is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Al Hammad is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ubercutt is defending well for now.
