Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matteo Boretti (ranked 332 p4p, 48 weight class) and Yuri Loel (ranked 400 p4p, 57 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Boretti might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon. Loel has chosen Stronger as his entrance music. Matteo Boretti could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yuri Loel's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boretti lands with a cross.
Loel clinches up with Boretti and pushes him back against the cage.
Boretti goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Loel misses with a hook to the ribs.
Boretti pushes Loel back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Boretti lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Boretti throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Loels head.

Loel lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Loel is trying to force a seperation but Boretti has the dominant position.

I was talking to Boretti's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Boretti misses with a punch on the inside.

Loel wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Boretti has him pressed against the cage.
Boretti lands an uppercut.
Loel manages to break the clinch.
Loel has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Yuri Loel has been cut.
Loel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Boretti connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Loel! He's out on his feet! Boretti rushes in and drops Loel with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Matteo Boretti decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
