PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Italo Giobbe (ranked 2518 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparky Heyyyyyy (ranked 2223 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giobbe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Heyyyyyy closes the distance and clinches up with Giobbe, looking for a takedown. Heyyyyyy pushes Giobbe against the cage but Giobbe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Giobbe tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Heyyyyyy manages to circle out of the way.

Heyyyyyy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Giobbe to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Heyyyyyy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Giobbe defends well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Giobbe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Heyyyyyy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Giobbe swings around for an armbar but Heyyyyyy sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Giobbe's guard.

Heyyyyyy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Giobbe will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Giobbe is pushing Heyyyyyy's head away, looking to escape. Heyyyyyy manages to hold on to the position though.

Heyyyyyy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Giobbe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sparky Heyyyyyy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Heyyyyyy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Giobbe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Heyyyyyy somewhat.

Heyyyyyy is working to tighten his grip on Giobbe's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Giobbe has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Heyyyyyy is really squeezing tight and eventually Giobbe passes out! Heyyyyyy breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
