PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Konichiwa Jempsa (ranked 2347 p4p, 312 weight class) and Bruno Dos Santos (ranked 3926 p4p, 449 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jempsa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dos Santos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jempsa has managed to get both his arms back between Dos Santos's legs - danger averted.

Dos Santos has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jempsa is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dos Santos.

Jempsa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dos Santos for as long as he can get away with.

Dos Santos changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jempsa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dos Santos's waist but Dos Santos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jempsa off to one side.
Jempsa shoots in looking for a takedown but Dos Santos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jempsa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
