Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yasol Kim (ranked 2774 p4p, 274 weight class) and Harri Haaparanta (ranked 3163 p4p, 300 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harri Haaparanta!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haaparanta bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kim takes a swing at Haaparanta's ribcage but misses.
Kim moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromHaaparanta.
Kim moves out of range of the leg kick from Haaparanta.
Kim throws a counter high kick but Haaparanta was just alert enough to avoid it.
Kim avoids the head kick by Haaparanta.
Kim shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Haaparanta is trying to counter with his kicks.

Kim looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

It looked like Kim wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Kim might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Kim throws a nice looking combination but Haaparanta bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Harri Haaparanta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Haaparanta tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Kim manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

I would just about give that final round to Harri Haaparanta.
Well Haaparanta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
