Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Axel Aethelwulf (ranked 1972 p4p, 219 weight class) and Grant Alyoshin (ranked 1663 p4p, 201 weight class). Aethelwulf comes to the cage accompanied by Me Siento Loco. Alyoshin has chosen Video killed the radio star as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Alyoshin!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Darius Henderson and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alyoshin lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Aethelwulf misses with a series of wild punches.
Alyoshin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Aethelwulf throws out a loose jab but Alyoshin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alyoshin needs to keep his hands up - Aethelwulf had a free shot at his head there.
Aethelwulf swings for the body but Alyoshin moves out of range.
Aethelwulf backing away here, and Alyoshin unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Aethelwulf misses with a straight left.
Aethelwulf steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alyoshin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aethelwulf connects with a right hand. Alyoshin shakes it off.
Aethelwulf misses with a hook
and Alyoshin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Aethelwulf's knee momentarily.
Alyoshin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Aethelwulf.
Aethelwulf throws a big counter combination but Alyoshin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Aethelwulf has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Alyoshin.
Aethelwulf is breathing heavily.
Alyoshin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A solid leg kick lands there for Alyoshin.
Alyoshin throws the left hand but Aethelwulf avoids the punch easily.
Alyoshin lands a nice looking kick to the body. Aethelwulf takes a step back to recover.
Alyoshin lands a nice looking body shot.
Aethelwulf throws a series of punches but Alyoshin moves out of range.
Alyoshin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Aethelwulf on the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Alyoshin lands a big uppercut and Aethelwulf crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Aethelwulf looks OK. Alyoshin waves Aethelwulf back to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Alyoshin cracks Aethelwulf with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Alyoshin has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Aethelwulf to stand back up!

Aethelwulf is rocked!
Alyoshin lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Aethelwulf up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Alyoshin from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Aethelwulf's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Grant Alyoshin!
