Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Baccalieri (ranked 900 p4p, 126 weight class) and Rodney Alcala (ranked 867 p4p, 122 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Baccalieri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rodney Alcala!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baccalieri staying out of range there.
Baccalieri lands with a straight right. Alcala didn't see that one coming.
Alcala looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Baccalieri steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alcala.
Alcala moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Baccalieri avoids the head kick by Alcala.
Alcala is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alcala explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Alcala will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Baccalieri works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Alcala uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Baccalieri.
Alcala appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Baccalieri takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Alcala throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alcala walks into a stiff left hand from Baccalieri.
Alcala swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alcala tries to bum rush Baccalieri with a series of wild strikes but Baccalieri uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Baccalieri misses the jab.
Alcala throws a combination that misses
and Baccalieri counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Alcala looks to land a body kick but Baccalieri moved away.
Rodney Alcala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alcala throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Baccalieri misses with an uppercut. Alcala saw that one coming.
Alcala changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Alcala throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alcala blocks a jab.
Alcala connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Baccalieri throws a body shot but no joy.
Baccalieri swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Alcala counters with a crisp one two that drops Baccalieri! Alcala thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Baccalieri to his feet! Baccalieri is in big trouble!


Baccalieri is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alcala misses with a hook.

Alcala lands a big head kick that sends Baccalieri tumbling to the mat! Alcala takes a step backwards and waves Baccalieri back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Oh Baccalieri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alcala will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Baccalieri avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alcala misses with a looping left.
Alcala bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Baccalieri throws a hook but Alcala avoids it easily.
Baccalieri bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Alcala's head.
Baccalieri seems to have got his legs back now.
Baccalieri walks into a jab.
Baccalieri on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Baccalieri doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Alcala stuns Baccalieri with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Alcala throws a sloppy head kick and Baccalieri moves out of range easily.
Alcala moves away from the strike by Baccalieri.
Alcala works Baccalieri's body with a nice hook.
Baccalieri takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Alcala tries to bum rush Baccalieri with a series of wild strikes but Baccalieri uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A jab from Alcala does it's job there.
Baccalieri misses with an uppercut.
Baccalieri is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Baccalieri throws a big shot that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alcala throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Baccalieri counters with a stiff right hand.
Alcala misses with a hook. Baccalieri ducked under it nicely.
Alcala ducks under a wild hook from Baccalieri.
Baccalieri thuds a left hand into Alcala's body.
Baccalieri bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A slapping leg kick lands for Alcala.
Alcala's corner calls for a 1-2. Alcala obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Alcala connects with a single shot there.
Alcala dodges the punch combination from Baccalieri.
Alcala fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baccalieri manages to avoid it.
Baccalieri throws out a loose jab but Alcala uses good head movement to avoid it.
Baccalieri doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Baccalieri throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Baccalieri tries to move into range but Alcala moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters circle, before Alcala throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Baccalieri's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Alcala lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Rodney Alcala!
Rodney Alcala very nearly forgot to thank Woodshins' Ship amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
