PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fightah Numbah Five (ranked 6736 p4p, 494 weight class) and Bearclaw Brennan (ranked 5110 p4p, 430 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brennan blocks a low kick nicely.

Brennan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Numbah Five. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You can see the frustration on Numbah Five's face as Brennan controls the position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Brennan working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Numbah Five pushes Brennan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Brennan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The referee asks Brennan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Brennan prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Brennan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Numbah Five - the referee stops the clock and Brennan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Numbah Five. Brennan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That was a close round but I would say that Fightah Numbah Five will probably get the nod.
