Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Orange Cassidy (ranked 4753 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Maia (ranked 7053 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Orange Cassidy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jonathan Maia!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cassidy takes the fight into the clinch.

Cassidy pulls guard effortlessly.
Cassidy controls Maia momentarily but Maia frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cassidy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maia defends well.

Cassidy is looking for a triangle but Maia pushes his legs off easily.

Cassidy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Maia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cassidy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cassidy has his foot on Maia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maia works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cassidy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cassidy gets caught flat footed, as Maia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Cassidy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Maia wants to control from the top but Cassidy keeps moving.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Maia closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cassidy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maia pulls his head out easily.

Maia can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cassidy is looking to escape.
Maia might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cassidy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cassidy tries to close the distance and clinch but Maia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cassidy wants to clinch.

Cassidy is trying to keep Maia in close.
Maia stands and throws Cassidy's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jonathan Maia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

I think Maia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
