The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Bowen throws a jab when Anderson was well out of range.
Anderson with the counter takedown but Bowen avoids it easily.
Bowen throws an off balance right hand
and Anderson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bowen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Anderson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Anderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Bowen.
It seemed like Anderson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bowen stalks Anderson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Anderson's face. Anderson staggers backwards, shaken.

Bowen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Anderson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bowen.
Anderson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Bowen throws a jab when Anderson was well out of range.
Despite the aggression on Anderson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Jamie Bowen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson ducks under a wild hook from Bowen.
Bowen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Anderson wants to counter with a clinch but Bowen pushes him away.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bowen throws a head kick that misses.
Anderson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

and Anderson counters with a stiff right hand.

and Anderson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Anderson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bowen dives on top into guard.

Bowen really is a fat lump.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Anderson has gone for a leg lock! Bowen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Anderson's guard.

Anderson has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bowen doesn't defend quickly enough and Anderson has managed to lock this one up! Can Bowen escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Anderson on a fantastic submission victory.
