CACC 7 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Thiago Araujo (ranked 1513 p4p, 184 weight class) and Maxim Bok (ranked 1574 p4p, 188 weight class). Bok is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Give It Revolution. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Thiago Araujo! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 7 losses; Maxim Bok!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Bok shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Araujo's guard.

Bok tries to free his leg and advance position but Araujo is retaining full guard.

Araujo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bok doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bok manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bok is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Araujo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bok does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Araujo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bok manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Araujo has Bok in his guard.
