And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arnold Smith!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Himes ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Himes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Himes takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Smith appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Smith takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Smith avoids a kick to the body.
Smith cracks Himes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Himes circles away quickly and effectively.
Himes swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Himes throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Good exchange - Smith coming out on top.
Himes looks to throw the jab but Smith is out of range.

Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Himes.
The fighters circling - Himes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Smith tries to move into range but Himes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Himes feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.

Himes definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Himes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Good work by Smith as he checks the leg kick.
Smith chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Himes can pounce on him.

Smith drops his hands momentarily and Himes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Himes will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Himes does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Himes thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Smith if he has to take too many more of those.

Himes cracks Smith with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Himes lands with a kick to the temple. Smith shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Himes jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Himes throws a front kick aimed at Smith's knee but Smith avoids it well.

Smith checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Smith misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Himes.
Smith moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Smith might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Himes has got the better of the exchanges.
