Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iron Jussi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kamen Kamenov!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamenov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jussi defends well and Kamenov ends up having to push Jussi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kamenov fails with the takedown
and Jussi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jussi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kamenov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Iron Jussi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamen Kamenov.
Jussi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kamenov.
Jussi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kamenov counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jussi thinking.
Jussi lands a nice hook to Kamenov's body. Kamenov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kamenov tries for a takedown but Jussi circles away easily
enabling Jussi to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jussi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kamenov.
Kamenov misses with a takedown
letting Jussi counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kamenov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jussi counters with a straight right hand.
Kamen Kamenov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kamenov shoots in but no luck this time.
Iron Jussi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kamenov swings for the body but Jussi moves out of range.
Kamenov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kamenov looks winded!
Jussi lands with an uppercut that bounces Kamenov off the cage and back into range.
Jussi throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Kamenov crashing down! Kamenov tries to stagger back to his feet but Jussi just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Kamenov asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iron Jussi!
