Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Chang (ranked 2039 p4p, 226 weight class) and Joe Smith (ranked 1484 p4p, 168 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ordinary Average Guy - Joe Walsh. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Smith!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chang showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Chang looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Chang to counter with a crisp jab.
Chang dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Chang throws a good cross that connects.
Chang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Smith throws a hook but Chang avoids it easily.

and Chang counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Smith swings for the body but Chang moves out of range.
Joe Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Chang eats them both and turns towards Smith to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chang.
Chang was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Chang fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.

Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chang moves away.
Chang is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Chang misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
Smith throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Chang counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chang manages to avoid it.
Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chang.
Chang cracks Smith with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Chang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chang thumps Smith with a low kick.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Chang slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Smith clobbers Chang with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Smith keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Chang throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Chang uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.

Chang scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Chang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.

and Chang cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Smith in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Chang's shoulder, as Chang tries to avoid the shot.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Chang finish him?
BOOM! Chang lands a beautiful left hook that drops Smith. Smith tries to recover but Chang is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Smith lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Chang!
A relieved looking Bruce Chang thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
