Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Baker (ranked 5872 p4p, 531 weight class) and Andres Cardoso (ranked 6592 p4p, 568 weight class). Cardoso has chosen Sepultura - Refuse/Resist as his entrance music. Andres Cardoso is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andres Cardoso!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Baker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Baker stalks Cardoso and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cardoso's face. Cardoso staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Andres Cardoso has been cut.
Baker throws a head kick that misses.
Baker connects with a crisp jab.

Cardoso is rocked!
Cardoso throws a leg kick but Baker moved away.
Baker misses with a two punch combination.
Cardoso is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Cardoso throws a hook to the side of Baker's head but Baker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Baker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cardoso to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Cardoso is taking a breather. Baker says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Cardoso is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baker pushes Cardoso off, looking to escape but Cardoso dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Baker is forced to tap! The fight is over!

After the fight, Andres Cardoso was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
