The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valen avoids the body shot from Wayne.
Wayne misses with a double jab.
Valen throwing a counter right hand but Wayne manages to avoid it.
Wayne swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wayne throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wayne getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Valen has managed to clinch.
Valen pushes Wayne back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

It looks like John Wayne has been cut.
Valen keeps control of Wayne as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Valen throws a head punch that misses.
Valen has a couple of punches blocked by Wayne.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Valen.
Valen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Valen lands with a left to the head.
Valen throws a punch but it's blocked by Wayne.

Valen misses with a hook from the clinch.
Valen throws a head punch that misses.
Wayne blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Valen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Valen makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Wayne is rocked!
Valen creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Wayne with a big uppercut! Wayne tries to clinch up but Valen pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Wayne to the mat! Wayne covers up and Valen unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
